Oceans 11... But Walking
Hey People!
I'm planning a little adventure and I hope you'll join me! Al and I have decided to leg it for Lucy! On June 11, 2021 we will set out to walk 85 kms on the Sooke Wilderness Trail. This will take us from Westshore, up over the Malahat to Lake Cowichan. We are hoping to raise funds as we go for Operation Smile Canada! Their network of medical volunteers provide free and life-changing surgeries that transfrom lives around the world.
For years I have wanted to express my gratitude for the wonderful health care my Lucy June has recieved since her birth. Being born with cleft lip and palate could have been a huge barrier in Lucy's life without the care she has been able to access. Without her team of specialists and surgeons she would not be able to hear, to speak, or eat effectively. I can't begin to imagine a life that isn't full of all of the stories and songs that Lucy has to share.
We would like to be able to help other children get the support they need to thrive as well. In her 8 years Lucy has attended countless appointments and had 5 surgeries and has become my hero in the process. She will continue to benefit from orthodontics and future surgeries down the road.
$240 is the cost of an initial surgery and my goal is to raise FIVE of these for little ones in need. With my biggest little hero as my inspiration, we will be stepping for smiles and sharing the adventure on IG with you along the way. Please donate if you are able to take part in this most special gift we hope to give!
