My name is Taylor Waugh and I just graduated this past June. I'm taking a gap year to work and save up for university which I am very excited for. In my free time I like to read both fiction and non-fiction books, play piano, watch movies, and cuddle my cats. I am also so grateful I get to be a part of Operation Smile to help kids with unfortunate circumstances. I know how happy I was when I finally got my braces off and I also know it won't even be a fraction of the relief these kids will feel after their operation. This is my second year being involved and I hope to be able to do it again in the years to come. My goal this year is to fundraise enough for five kids to get the operation they deserve.
Millions of children living with untreated cleft conditions have difficculties eating, breathing, speaking and being accepted by many of their peers and communities. Malnurition remains one of the most significant obstacles to recieving care. Without timely medical intervention, child patients confront challenges with breastfeeding, struggle to recieve proper nourishment when it's most critical and beome more susceptible to infections and diseases.
For this reason, I will be conducting a 24 hour fast in solidarity with children born with cleft conditions who experience malnutrition in order to fundraise for these life-changing surgeries. Any amount you can donate will help. I will be conducting my fast in early October.
Thank you!
