Hello everyone, this is Operation Smile UWO. We have been a club at Western for over 10 years and continue to grow each year. Our mission is to create awareness about Operation Smile and raise as much money as possible to help children around the world. Operation Smile is an organization that helps people born with cleft lip and/or palate who do not have access to surgical care.

Every three minutes a child is born with cleft lip and/or palate. In many countries, these children do not have access to the surgical care that they need. This leads to malnutrition, social isolation and bullying. These children are forced to live in isolation and do not reach their full potential. For only $240, we can perform a surgery on them and change their life. The number of untreated cleft lip and/or palate patients increases every day, so we need your help!

Our goal is to raise at least $4800 in order to provide surgery for 20 people born with cleft lip and/or palate. Normally we have a wide variety of events, including a speaker night, bar nights and frozen yogurt day. Since this year it is difficult to raise money though in-person events, we have set up this fundraising page to help reach our goal. Although COVID-19 is impacting all of us, there are still children being born with cleft lip and/or palate every day who need our help. Please give what you can to make a difference and help us reach our goal.
